2007 Oregon Asian Celebration: Footprints of Asia
Eugene, OR--Hear the beating roar of taiko drums, see the brightly adorned Chinese lion gyrating through the crowd, and smell the aroma of tantalizing Asian cuisine. It all takes place at the annual Oregon Asian Celebration on February 17 & 18 at the Lane Events Center at the fairgrounds.
Treat yourself to the Northwest's largest Asian cultural festival. This annual event features a bustling array of Asian cultural treats through its colorful marketplace of vendors, Asian and Asian-American dances and entertainment, an art exhibit, crafts, martial arts and cooking demonstrations, educational exhibits and displays, youth activities, a wide selection of Asian cuisine, special events and so much more. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. both days and conclude at 6:00 p.m.
The 22nd annual Oregon Asian Celebration features the theme "Footprints of Asia" and honors the cultures and customs of Asian heritages. This annual event will feature traditional elements with new activities that showcase Asian and Asian American culture through entertainment, demonstrations and special events.
Besides the festivities taking place February 17 & 18, this year's event expands to include special events taking place at various community venues. Watch for details in the coming months by checking back on this website.

The Atrium art stage will feature a smaller stage for quieter forms of entertainment and demonstrations. Many of the performers from the main stage will visit the smaller Atrium stage for festival goers to enjoy a more intimate experience.
Many new activities are planned, so visit each area of the festival and enjoy seeing, hearing, touching and learning about Asian culture and what it has to offer.
The Oregon Asian Celebration, which has grown to attract up to 20,000 people over the two-day festival, is presented by the Eugene/Springfield Asian Council, a nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission is to contribute towards building a better community by promoting cultural understanding through support and production of Asian and Asian-American cultural activities.
The event is made possible with support from this year's sponsors Bi-Mart, Hynix Semiconductor of America, Sunrise Asian Food Market, Kikkoman International, Three Rivers Casino, PacInfo Internet Services, Umpqua Bank, Symantec, Magic 94, KEZI, and the City of Eugene Library, Recreation and Cultural Services Department.
