Kikkoman International and Sunrise Asian Market
This year’s theme, “The Future is in Your Hands,” will focus on passing on the cooking pots to the younger generation. Many of this year’s participants will be international students from the University of Oregon, who are challenged to make a dish from Reflections of 25 Years: The Asian Celebration’s Community Cookbook.
Marvy Schuman, Cooking Demonstration Chair, cookbook editor, and cooking instructor, together with assistant chair, Son Hughes, will challenge these kids, as well as some community members, to do their best in creating a delectable dish or two. This will showcase how “user-friendly” and easy it is to prepare most of the recipes in our cookbook.
Learn to make sushi, spring rolls, substitute ingredients, do basic stir fries, see new techniques and styles, and smell the wonderful herbs and spices that are used during the demonstrations. Meet the students and demonstrators from various countries and make new friends. Join us for some or all of the demonstrations and learn some of the easiest, tastiest, and most budget-friendly Asian dishes that you can prepare..

This year, the cookbooks are selling for just $5 each! We recommend following the demonstrations with your own copy, so you can make notes. This is a great time to stock up for presents! For early book reservations or recipe questions, you may email Ms. Schuman at askmarvy@gmail.com to reserve your books to be picked up at the Cooking Demonstration area. |
